Martin Gomez Architects has designed this beautiful house located in La Boyita, Punta del Este, Uruguay. The residential architecture project consists of five blocks, with the main block containing a living room and dining area with the best views of the sea and the pool. This area is fully protected from the wind as it is positioned in the center of the project. The other blocks house a service area, and the last blocks contain guest rooms. This design of independence was crucial to give guests the feeling of being in a hotel. In total, the property has 5 suites in addition to the service area. The main block sits between La Boyita coast and the pool, but, being entirely transparent, it allows for visual permeability between both environments. Opaque elements of heavy masonry are reserved for taller structures, so as not to obstruct the connection with the landscape. The independent volumes are arranged around a large outdoor space with a pool in the center, making it protected from the wind. The other galleries wrap around the autonomous rooms in an open living space that establishes a seamless transition between the interior and exterior. The gallery area of these concrete blocks serves as outdoor living rooms while creating a fluid transition between the interior and exterior, which in turn provides a fantastic panoramic view. The materials used are concrete, wood, iron, and glass. The materials are native: stone, wood, iron, and slate blend into the immediate environment.
